Air Curtains
17 products
An air curtain creates an invisible barrier of air across a doorway or entrance opening — separating the internal and external environments without physically blocking the opening. This maintains internal temperature, keeps insects and airborne contaminants out, and improves energy efficiency by reducing heat loss through open entrances.
Our commercial air curtains are suitable for retail shops, restaurants, warehouses, loading bays, and public buildings. Available in a range of widths to suit standard door openings, with heated and unheated versions depending on your application.
What does an air curtain do?
An air curtain blows a controlled stream of air downward across a doorway, creating a separation layer between inside and outside. This keeps warm air in (reducing heating costs), blocks flying insects and airborne dust, and maintains a comfortable internal environment — even with the door left open.
Do I need a heated or unheated air curtain?
Unheated air curtains are suitable where temperature separation is the main concern — such as loading bays or cool storage areas. Heated air curtains add warmth to the airstream, making them more effective at maintaining internal temperature in cold climates or frequently-open entrances like shop doors.
What width air curtain do I need?
As a general rule, the air curtain should be at least as wide as the door opening it covers. For openings wider than a single unit, two units can be installed side by side.
Are air curtains energy efficient?
Yes — by reducing heat loss through open entrances, a well-specified air curtain can significantly lower heating costs. Look for units with EC (electronically commutated) motors and variable speed control for the most efficient operation.
