A radiant heater, also called an infrared heater, warms people and surfaces directly instead of heating the air, so you feel the heat almost straight away. We stock Frico HC infrared ceiling panels, the 300W HC3 (593 x 593mm) and 600W HC6 (1193 x 595mm), which fit in a standard suspended ceiling grid for offices, schools and bathrooms, and the Frico IHC12 infrared heater (1150 to 1750W), a wall mounted heater for outdoor areas such as patios, smoking shelters and canopies. All three are IP44 rated. Use the buttons below to filter by type, or for help choosing, email hello@efans.co.uk or call 0161 399 3825.

Frequently asked questions
How does a radiant heater work?
A radiant heater gives off infrared heat that travels through the air and warms the people, floors and surfaces it reaches, much like sunshine. Because it does not rely on heating the air, the warmth is felt quickly and it works well in draughty or partly open spaces.
Where are radiant ceiling panels used?
The Frico HC panels are made for offices, schools, bathrooms and similar rooms with ceilings up to 3m. They fit into a suspended ceiling grid in place of a tile, giving silent heat with no fan and nothing taking up wall space.
Can I use an infrared heater outside?
Yes. The Frico IHC12 is made for outdoor use on patios, terraces, smoking shelters and under canopies. It is IP44 rated and wall mounted at 1.8 to 3m, and heats people directly, so it still works in the open air where a convector would not.
What size radiant heater do I need?
The HC3 at 300W suits a small room or a zone of a larger one, and the HC6 at 600W covers more area. For larger rooms, fit several panels spread across the ceiling. For outdoor areas, the IHC12 heats the people below and in front of it, so plan one heater per seating area.
Are radiant heaters efficient?
Radiant heaters put heat where people are rather than warming all the air in the room, so they suit spaces that are draughty, partly open or only used for part of the day. For help planning a layout, email hello@efans.co.uk or call 0161 399 3825.
