Pressed steel grilles are tough, fixed blade grilles pressed from Zintec coated steel, with a 67% free area, for wall or door mounting inside or outside. They fit over an existing opening, which makes them a quick way to replace an old or broken vent. We stock nine square sizes from 150 x 150mm to 600 x 600mm in white or silver, and the overall size is about 45mm larger than the nominal face. Use the size buttons below to filter, or for a bespoke size or colour, email hello@efans.co.uk or call 0161 399 3825.

Frequently asked questions
What is a pressed steel grille used for?
Covering a ventilation opening in a wall, door or bulkhead with a robust fixed blade grille. Typical uses are door transfer grilles, plant rooms, riser cupboards, stores and external wall openings. The angled blades stop a direct line of sight through the grille.
What sizes are available?
Nine square sizes: 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500 and 600mm. The size is the nominal face, which matches the opening. The overall size including the frame is about 45mm larger. Each size comes in white or silver.
Can pressed steel grilles be used outside?
Yes, they are suitable for internal or external use. For an exposed external opening where driving rain is a concern, a weather louvre with a bird mesh gives better rain protection.
Pressed steel grille or deflection grille?
A pressed steel grille has fixed blades, so it suits extract, return and transfer air where you only need the air to get through. A deflection grille has adjustable blades so you can direct supply air, which matters in offices and meeting rooms.
What does 67% free area mean?
Two thirds of the grille face is open to airflow and the rest is taken up by the blades and frame. When sizing from an airflow figure, allow for the free area, and go up a size if the air speed through the face would be high enough to whistle.
Can I fit a pressed steel grille in a fire door?
Not on its own. A grille in a fire door or fire resisting wall has to keep the fire rating, which a standard grille does not. Use an intumescent fire block or the correct fire damper, or ask us and we will point you to the right product.
