Commercial & Industrial Heaters
29 products
Our range of commercial heaters delivers efficient, reliable heating for offices, warehouses, workshops, and industrial facilities. From air curtains that provide temperature control at entrances to radiant heaters for targeted warmth in large open spaces, we stock high-quality solutions to suit any commercial application.
Our selection includes products from trusted brands such as Frico, offering durable and high-performing options for continuous use in demanding environments. Whether you need in-duct heaters integrated into your HVAC system or standalone radiant panels, we have the products to meet your requirements.
What type of commercial heater should I choose?
Choosing the right heater depends on your space and purpose. Air curtains are ideal for entrances to reduce heat loss, radiant heaters provide targeted warmth in large areas, in-duct heaters integrate with HVAC systems for consistent heating, and commercial patio heaters are suited for outdoor or semi-outdoor spaces.
What types of commercial heater do you stock?
We stock three core types. Duct heaters (also called inline heaters or heater batteries) are electric heating elements fitted inside a ventilation duct to warm supply air — used for MVHR frost protection and commercial air handling. Air curtains are horizontal fan units fitted above doorways that create a jet of air across the opening to keep heated internal air in and cold outside air out — used on shop entrances, warehouse loading bays and commercial doorways. Radiant heaters use infrared elements to warm surfaces and people directly rather than warming the air — used for workshops, warehouses, covered outdoor areas and spot heating where heating the whole air volume is impractical.
How to choose the right commercial heater
Selecting the correct heater is critical for energy efficiency, comfort, and system performance. Consider:
-
Application – large warehouses, offices, workshops, or outdoor areas may require different solutions.
-
Output capacity – ensure the heater matches the size and layout of the space, taking into account ceiling height and airflow requirements.
- Controls and automation – thermostats, timers, and occupancy sensors improve energy efficiency and reduce running costs.
Consider commercial heating requirements
Efficiency and performance are crucial in commercial environments:
-
Power and coverage – measured in kilowatts (kW), the heater must provide sufficient heat for the intended area.
-
Energy efficiency – high-performance units reduce energy costs and carbon footprint.
-
Durability – commercial heaters must handle continuous operation and high-demand usage in offices, warehouses, and industrial spaces.
- Airflow and distribution – ensure even heating across the space, especially for long or complex layouts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do commercial heaters need three-phase power?
Some do, some don't. Most of our smaller duct heaters (up to around 5kW) are single-phase 230V. Larger duct heaters, industrial radiant heaters and high-output air curtains typically require three-phase 400V supply. The product listing for each heater states the supply requirement. For any commercial or industrial heater installation, the electrical connection must be sized to the heater rating, protected with appropriate circuit protection, and installed by a qualified electrician in line with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
Are the heaters suitable for industrial and warehouse use?
Yes. Our air curtains and radiant heaters include commercial and industrial-rated units suitable for warehouses, loading bays, production facilities and covered outdoor areas. Frico industrial air curtains cover large roller shutter doors up to 5m wide. Frico industrial radiant heaters cover large open spaces with high ceilings where convection heating is inefficient. For specific industrial applications, we can advise on product sizing and recommend the right unit — email hello@efans.co.uk with your space dimensions and usage.
Can these heaters be used with a building management system?
Yes. Most commercial heaters in our range are compatible with external control via building management systems (BMS), typically through a 0–10V analogue control signal or dry contact switching. Duct heaters interface with Systemair REGO controllers that integrate with BMS. Air curtains and radiant heaters typically use BMS-compatible thermostats and controllers. Product-specific control options are listed on each individual product page .
What delivery and trade pricing do you offer?
All stocked heaters are available for next-day delivery across mainland UK. Larger items (commercial air curtains, industrial radiant heaters) may require a 2–3 day lead time depending on size and weight.
How do I calculate the heating requirement for a commercial space?
To determine heating requirements, calculate the room volume (m³), ceiling height, insulation quality, and desired temperature increase. For large or high-ceiling spaces, radiant heaters often provide more efficient warmth than air-based systems. For entrance zones, consider air curtains to maintain indoor temperatures and reduce energy loss.
Can in-duct heaters work with existing HVAC systems?
Yes. In-duct heaters are designed to integrate directly into ductwork, providing uniform heating across multiple zones. Proper sizing and airflow considerations are essential to maintain efficiency and prevent excessive pressure drop in the system.
Are radiant heaters suitable for industrial environments?
Absolutely. Radiant heaters are ideal for warehouses, factories, and workshops because they heat objects and people directly rather than heating the air. This approach is energy-efficient, particularly in spaces with high ceilings or intermittent occupancy.
How do air curtains improve energy efficiency?
Air curtains create an invisible barrier at doors or entrances, preventing warm air from escaping and cold air from entering. They help maintain indoor temperatures, reduce energy costs, and improve comfort for staff and customers.
Can I use commercial heaters outdoors?
Yes, certain heaters are designed for external or semi-outdoor spaces. Commercial patio heaters are weather-resistant and provide effective heat for terraces, outdoor dining areas, and open workshops. Ensure the unit is rated for outdoor use and positioned safely.
