An air curtain, also called an over door heater, blows a stream of air down across an open doorway to keep heat in and cold draughts, dust and insects out, so the door can stay open without the building losing comfort or energy. We stock commercial air curtains from Frico and Thermoscreens for shop, café, office and warehouse entrances, in electric heated versions with outputs up to 18kW and ambient (unheated) versions, in widths of 0.8m, 0.9m, 1m, 1.2m, 1.5m and 2m to suit the door opening. Use the buttons below to filter by heating and width, or for help choosing, email hello@efans.co.uk or call 0161 399 3825.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an air curtain and an over door heater?
They are the same product. Over door heater usually means a heated air curtain, while air curtain covers both heated and ambient models. Every model works by blowing a downward air stream across the doorway.
What width of air curtain do I need?
Choose a unit at least as wide as the door opening so the air stream covers the full width. Our range runs from 0.8m for single doors up to 2m. For wider openings, fit two units side by side.
Heated or ambient air curtain?
Choose a heated model for entrances where staff or customers feel the cold, or where the air curtain is part of the heating. Choose an ambient model where the building is already heated or cooled, or where the main aim is to keep out dust, fumes and insects. Ambient models cost less to run.
What height can an air curtain be installed at?
The Frico PA2200C range has a recommended install height of 2.2m, and the Frico ADA ambient models go up to 2.5m. Check the installation height on each product page against your door height before ordering.
What power supply does an air curtain need?
Ambient models and smaller heated models such as the Frico PA1508 and PA2210CE03 run on a 230V single phase supply. Larger electric heated models, including most 5kW and above, need a 400V three phase supply. The supply is listed on each product page.
Do air curtains save energy?
Yes. When a door is open, an air curtain cuts the heat lost through it, so the heating system works less. It works best mounted as close to the top of the door as possible and covering the full width of the opening. For help sizing, email hello@efans.co.uk or call 0161 399 3825.
