If you are about to place a significant order with a supplier you have not used before, you want to know who else has. This page answers that.

Most of our work is supply rather than installation. A facilities or estates team either knows exactly what they need, or knows the symptom and needs someone to work out the rest. We identify it, quote it, and get it there — usually next working day.

Key takeaways

  • Our equipment has been delivered to Wembley National Stadium, the OVO Arena and the Bank of England.
  • Mitie, Serco, Engie and Veolia use us as a supply partner across their client estates.
  • We supply multi-site estates including Costa Coffee, Britannia Hotels, the Co-op and Landsec.
  • A large share of our orders come from other ventilation professionals — duct cleaners, PIV installers and M&E contractors buying repeatedly.
  • Where we supply through a main contractor, we name the site rather than the contractor.

Wembley National Stadium and the OVO Arena

Aluminium weather louvres were delivered to the West Service Gate at Wembley National Stadium.

A short walk away on Engineers Way, the OVO Arena Wembley took a twin duct fan — two fans in one insulated casing with automatic changeover, so ventilation carries on if one unit fails. Venues that fill and empty thirty thousand people in an evening cannot schedule a breakdown, and run-and-standby is the standard answer.

Both arrived through the contractors doing the work, which is how most large-venue supply happens. Nobody at a stadium raises a purchase order for a fan; the M&E contractor does, and it ships straight to the service gate.

The Bank of England

The Bank of England ordered from us directly, with a commercial centrifugal duct fan shipped to its Debden site.

This is the order we would point to if you are worried about process rather than product. Buying for the Bank means supplier checks, purchase order discipline and delivery to a site that does not accept casual visitors. Plenty of suppliers are fine until the paperwork starts. We cleared it.

If you work in the public sector, or anywhere with a procurement team between you and the thing you need, that is probably more reassuring than any specification we could quote.

Facilities management

Mitie, Serco, Engie and Veolia all use us as a supply partner across their client estates.

FM work has a particular shape. Something has failed. It is in somebody else's building. There is a service level agreement running, and the clock started before anyone picked up the phone. Nobody in that situation wants a catalogue.

What they want is for someone to look at a photograph of a thirty-year-old fan, identify what will replace it, confirm it is in stock, and commit to a delivery date they can repeat back to their client. That is most of what we do, and it is why FM providers tend to come back rather than shop around each time.

If you are chasing a replacement and only have a photo, a rating plate or a rough size, send it over. Identifying discontinued and obsolete plant is routine for us — a good proportion of what we supply is a modern equivalent of something that has not been made for years.

Why the trade buys from us

A large share of our business is other ventilation professionals, and that is the fact we would weigh most heavily if we were you.

Duct hygiene and cleaning specialists, PIV installers, fire damper inspection companies, roofing contractors and M&E firms buy from us repeatedly. Several have been ordering steadily for years, and some have been with us since we started.

That matters because people who fit ventilation for a living have the widest possible choice of supplier and the least patience for a wrong part. They are not swayed by a website. If a supplier sends the wrong thing, they lose a day, a client's goodwill and sometimes a scaffold booking. They do not come back a second time — so a contractor who has been buying from the same place for years has told you something a testimonial cannot.

Container conversion and modular building specialists are another steady group — a sector with genuinely awkward ventilation problems, because the buildings are steel boxes that arrive on a lorry.

Multi-site estates

Rolling one specification across many buildings is a different job to a single installation, and it is one we are set up for.

  • Costa Coffee — bespoke weather louvres, colour-matched, for a drive-thru build in Stevenage
  • Britannia Hotels — supply across Aberdeen, Leeds and Hale, from insulated box fans with matched silencers and speed control through to square weather louvres
  • Landsec — supply to Southside Shopping Centre
  • The Co-op, Sciensus, the Port of Felixstowe and the Priory group

The thing that usually matters on a rollout is not price, it is consistency. The fourth store needs the same unit as the first, in the same finish, eighteen months later, so that one set of spares and one method statement covers the estate. We hold specifications against accounts for exactly that reason.

Bespoke louvres and grilles

Two of the names above — Wembley and Costa Coffee — were made-to-order louvre jobs, and bespoke manufacture is one of the things we do most.

We make aluminium and 304 stainless steel weather louvres and grilles to your sizes and your RAL colour, from small single units up to multi-section assemblies several metres wide and tall. Bird mesh, insect mesh, pre-punched fixing holes and colour-matched screws are all options, and large openings are split into sections so they can be carried through a building and lifted into place by hand.

Two finishes on the same job is not a problem. Neither is a non-standard size, which is the usual reason people end up ordering bespoke in the first place — the opening is what it is, and trimming a standard louvre to fit rarely ends well.

We issue a manufacturing drawing for approval before anything goes into production, and only cut metal once you have signed it off. That step matters most to buyers without an M&E consultant — school business managers and estates teams ordering direct — because the drawing is the check that the thing will actually fit. Ask us for current lead times when you enquire.

Defence

RMB Chivenor, the Royal Marines base in Barnstaple, has ordered from us on several occasions.

The work is plant maintenance rather than new installation: centrifugal and axial roof fans, and replacement drive components — motors, pulleys, taper locks and matched belt sets. Keeping an existing system running usually means matching what is already bolted to the roof rather than specifying something better, and that is a different skill to selecting from new.

We also supply Aspire Defence, which manages accommodation and facilities across the Army's Salisbury Plain garrisons, and the National Army Museum in Chelsea.

NHS and healthcare

We supply NHS trusts across England, among them Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, Poole Hospital NHS Trust, NTW Solutions (the estates arm of Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust) and NHS Property Services.

This is almost entirely maintenance: replacement fans, filters and parts, usually needed quickly. Hospital estates teams are working around clinical activity, so the window to change a fan is often a few hours on a specific day, and a delivery that slips by a week costs a great deal more than the part.

On the private side we supply Bupa and the Priory group.

Aviation, rail and utilities

TUI Airways buys through us for facilities at its Luton base — a single room heat recovery unit with boost control, along with rigid ducting, bends, tee pieces and metal supply and extract valves. We also supply catering operations at Gatwick.

Network Rail Infrastructure has ordered plate axial fans for building ventilation, and Wessex Water is a direct customer.

What these sites have in common is access. Airside, lineside and at a water treatment works, the constraint is rarely the equipment — it is permits, escorts and short working windows. Getting the right item first time is worth a lot more than saving a few pounds on it.

Education

Universities and colleges order from us directly, including the University of Chichester, University College Birmingham and Selwyn College, Cambridge.

Schools do too, often for made-to-order louvres manufactured to the school's own drawing and colour, and frequently with no M&E consultant involved at all. A business manager measures the opening, we draw it, they approve it, we make it.

Almost all of this work is scheduled into the summer or a half term, which means the real deadline is the date the children come back. We would rather tell you in week one that something will not arrive in time than find out together in week six.

Industry, housing and elsewhere

UCC Coffee UK and Northern Monk Brewing Co are among our food and drink customers, alongside glass packaging, heat treatment, powder processing and advanced manufacturing businesses.

Industrial supply is usually high-volume roof and wall extract: plate axial fans supplied as a complete package with the purlin box, backdraft shutter, roof cowl and speed controller to match. Sending the fan on its own is a good way to have someone stood on a roof waiting for the rest of it.

Lovell Partnerships is a direct customer, and we supply contractors delivering damp and mould programmes for social landlords at the scale that work requires — humidity-controlled continuous extract units shipped in bulk, and repeat batches across rolling programmes.

And occasionally somewhere less expected: York Minster has ordered through us, and Euston Films orders regularly for studio and location work.

FAQs

Do you only sell to trade?

No. We sell to anyone, and a large share of our orders are single items to homeowners and small builders. But most of our value is in commercial and industrial supply, which is what this page covers.

Are you on approved supplier lists?

We supply NHS trusts, defence establishments and national FM providers, so we are used to purchase order systems, supplier onboarding and O&M documentation requirements. Tell us what your process needs and we will tell you honestly whether we can meet it.

Can you supply against a fan schedule or drawing?

Yes. Send the schedule, the drawing, or just a description of the problem and we will quote against it. For bespoke louvres and grilles we issue a manufacturing drawing for approval before production.

Can you identify a replacement for an old fan?

Usually. Send a photograph of the rating plate if there is one, or the dimensions and a description if there is not. A good proportion of what we supply is a modern equivalent of a unit that has been out of production for years.

Why are some customers named and others not?

Where an organisation buys from us directly, we name them. Where we supplied through a main contractor, we name the site the goods went to rather than the contractor, because that commercial relationship is theirs to talk about rather than ours.

Do you deliver to site?

Yes, including construction sites and secure estates. Much of the supply described on this page went directly to site rather than to the buyer's own address.
