The Hydor HFC is a 6 Amp single phase electronic speed controller for 230V AC fans. A rotary dial gives infinitely variable speed from minimum to maximum, and an integral ON/OFF rocker switch starts and stops the fan.
It is the correct controller for the Hydor HPA plate axial fan range from 250mm to 500mm, and it also suits the Hydor HCF destratification sweep ceiling fans. It is housed in a compact surface-mounting enclosure with connections for one fan outlet.

Suitable for

The HPA fans are not reversible, so the HFC is the only controller Hydor specify for them. The 630mm HPA needs a larger 10 Amp controller: call us and we will point you to the right one. If you want to reverse a sweep ceiling fan for summer and winter running, you need the separate Hydor reversing controller.
Installation
Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician and connected to a suitably rated fused spur. Isolate the mains supply before wiring. Fit the controller in a dry, sheltered position away from heat sources and high humidity, with an ambient temperature no higher than 40°C. Check the fan motor rating plate to confirm the full load current is within 6 Amp. If the fan will not start on the minimum setting, the pre-set potentiometer inside the unit can be adjusted to raise the minimum speed.

Which Hydor fans does the HFC control?
It is the controller Hydor specify for single phase HPA plate axial fans from 250mm to 500mm, and it also suits HCF sweep ceiling fans.
Will it work with the 630mm HPA fan?
No. The 630mm HPA needs a larger 10 Amp controller. Call us and we will supply the right one.
Can it reverse a ceiling fan?
No. The HFC is a speed controller only. Reversing a sweep fan needs the separate Hydor reversing controller.
How is the speed adjusted?
Speed is infinitely variable using the rotary dial, with an integral ON/OFF rocker switch.
Can it control more than one fan?
