The Elta Slim Qube SSQU4/6-3HT is a high temperature centrifugal box fan with a 710mm circular inlet spigot and a 345 x 940mm outlet, rated by Elta for operating temperatures up to +120°C in the duct. The 6 pole three phase IP55 TEFC motor (950 rpm, wound for 230V delta or 400V star) sits out of the air stream and drives a free running backward curved impeller. The casing is a self supporting extruded aluminium frame with 25mm double skinned panels filled with non flammable mineral wool, the outlet position can be changed on site, and Elta give a 12 month warranty.

What it is best used for
Large kitchen and factory extract on a 710mm duct where noise matters, for example near a school, college or restaurant dining area. The 6 pole motor runs at 950 rpm, giving 12535 m³/h free air and 6595 m³/h at 500 Pa with lower noise than the 4 pole SSQU4.
It is not a smoke extract fan: the +120°C figure is a continuous in-duct running rating and the datasheet gives no smoke or fire temperature/time rating. It also needs an Eltadrive variable speed drive and a three phase motor connection. For air below 50°C a standard Elta Qube SQU box fan will do the job, and on a rooftop the Elta Clearflow CFHT roof fan avoids the need for an external roof cover.
Why choose this over alternatives
A standard temperature box fan such as the Elta Qube SQU is rated for an airstream up to +50°C. The Slim Qube keeps its motor out of the air stream, so grease, fumes and heat up to +120°C do not reach the windings, and the acoustically insulated double skinned panels keep the noise down inside the building. The motor and impeller lift out together for cleaning.
Compared with the Elta Qube SQUHT high temperature box fans, the Slim Qube has a round 710mm inlet spigot that connects straight to circular ductwork. The Elta Slim Qube SSQU4/4-3HT is the 4 pole version on the same 710mm spigot, giving 13687 m³/h free air and pressure up to 1000 Pa, at 3.000 kW instead of 1.500 kW.
Installation notes
- Fix the fan securely, support it properly and leave access for maintenance. Set the movable panels to put the outlet where you need it before connecting the duct.
- An Eltadrive variable speed drive must be installed. On a single phase supply use 149-ODE3-22220-1KB4Y (IP66) or 149-ODE3-22220-1KB12 (IP20); on a three phase supply use 149-ODE3-24220-3KA4Y (IP66) or 149-ODE3-24220-3KA42 (IP20).
- Wire to Elta diagram 152-600. The motor is star connected for 400V as standard; Elta's diagram shows it reconnected to delta to run from a single phase to three phase drive. Fit a means of isolation and a starter or drive with overload protection, as fuses only give short circuit protection.
- At first start check the impeller direction: the air still moves the right way if the impeller runs backwards, but airflow drops and current rises. The fan weighs 147 kg.
- For outdoor mounting fit the external roof cover 039-SSQU-ER-D. High temperature flexible connectors 063-0710-PU250 (each) isolate vibration from the duct.

What temperature can the Elta Slim Qube SSQU4/6-3HT handle?
Elta rate the SSQUHT range for operating temperatures up to +120°C in the duct, with the motor mounted out of the air stream. The datasheet gives no smoke extract or fire rating, so it is for hot process and kitchen air, not for smoke control systems.
