The Elta PIV ONE PLUS+ is a loft mounted whole house positive input ventilation unit with a built-in heater and advanced control. It supplies fresh, filtered air to the central hallway or landing at up to 216 m³/h (60 l/s) at 100 Pa, curing condensation and mould and reducing radon gas concentration, while the heater tempers the incoming air for comfort.
It has the same double filtration as the PIV ONE (washable magnetic pre-filter plus ISO Coarse 60% G4 filter, upgradeable to an IAQ PM2.5 filter) and adds dip switch control of heater set point, heat recovery boost from a warm loft and summer standby. Maximum power with the heater on is 400W, Elta quote 27 dB(A) at 3m, and it carries a 5 year warranty.

What it is best used for
Houses and bungalows with a loft where condensation and mould need curing but the occupants would feel unheated incoming air as a draught, for example elderly residents, social housing and rented homes. The heat recovery function speeds the unit up when the loft is warm to bring free solar heat into the home.
Like any loft PIV it needs a loft above a central landing; flats without one should use the SANO IPIV WALL H. The heater adds running cost when it operates (up to 400W), so set the heater temperature sensibly.

Over the PIV ONE, the PLUS+ adds the heater and advanced control: heater set point, heat recovery boost when the loft is warm and summer standby to stop warm loft air being pushed in on hot days. The airflow, filtration and footprint are the same.
The SANO IPIV LOFT H offers a similar heated specification with Elta's ECO-LoFlo moisture based airflow control and eight installer airflow settings, if you prefer that control approach.
Installation notes
- Mount the unit horizontally on the loft floor or the underside of the roof structure, on a flat surface that will take its weight; anti-vibration mounts (not supplied) are recommended.
- Fit the ceiling diffuser centrally on the top floor hallway or landing. Near a smoke alarm, fit the supplied blanking plates so air does not blow across it.
- In homes of 3 storeys or more, interlock the unit with the smoke alarm so it powers down when the alarm sounds; the standard diffuser is not suitable for 3 storey or higher homes or fire protected areas.
- Leave access to the filters and terminal box, and provide an omnipolar isolating switch. Installation by an authorised installer.
- Set the heater temperature, heat recovery trigger and summer standby thresholds on the dip switches during commissioning.
