Summary
See more specification See less specification
The Elta FLUX HR 150 (also sold as DEXA HR 150) is a single room heat recovery unit for a 150mm (6") wall opening. It alternates between supply and extract every 70 seconds; while extracting, its ceramic heat exchanger stores heat from the outgoing air, which then warms the incoming fresh air on the supply cycle. It moves up to 60 m³/h.
It runs on 220 to 240V 50/60Hz drawing just 3.8 W at high speed, is IPX4 on a wall (IPX2 on a ceiling), suits ambient temperatures up to 50°C and has a tool-free removable front fascia for filter cleaning. Elta give it a 5 year warranty.
- Up to 60 m³/h
- Alternate flow (push-pull)
- Ceramic heat exchanger
What it is best used for
Continuous, low cost ventilation of single rooms with condensation and mould problems, such as kitchens, living rooms, larger bathrooms and utility rooms in rented homes, flats and refurbishments where ducted MVHR is not practical. Two units can be synchronised so one supplies while the other extracts, improving cross-ventilation between rooms.
It is a single room unit with a modest airflow of up to 60 m³/h, so it will not replace a whole house MVHR system or a powerful boost extract fan for a busy kitchen. Because it alternates direction, it does not give the continuous extract rate some Building Regulations wet room calculations require; check the design rate first.
Why choose this over alternatives
Compared with a standard extract fan, the FLUX HR recovers much of the heat that would otherwise go out of the wall, so it can run all day to control humidity without making the room cold. Against the FLUX HR 100, the 150 needs a 150mm core but moves more than twice the air, so suits larger rooms.
For remote control, five speeds, smart humidity control and synchronisation of up to 10 units, step up to the FLUX HR PLUS+ 150. The optional Elta DEXA HR Wall Control Switch adds user speed control, flow direction override and the free cooling setting on this standard model.
Installation notes
- Core a 150mm hole through an external wall and fit the unit through it with the external grille outside; ceiling mounting is possible but drops the rating to IPX2.
- Where two units are fitted as a pair, set them to synchronise so one supplies while the other extracts.
- The free cooling setting, which stops heat exchange in summer, needs the optional switch accessory.
- Remove the front fascia without tools to clean the filters regularly.
- Electrical connection by a qualified electrician with a means of isolation.
You'll also need
- Elta DEXA HR Wall Control Switch (optional, for speed control, flow override and free cooling)
