Roof Cowls & Weatherproof Vent Cowls
8 products
A roof cowl is a weatherproof termination fitting for vertical duct runs that penetrate a roof — allowing air to exhaust or intake freely while preventing rain, wind, birds, and debris from entering the ventilation system. Our range covers standard residential roof cowls, louvred cowls, and mushroom cowls for both domestic and commercial applications.
Suitable for flat and pitched roof installations, available in a range of duct diameters. Compatible with rigid and flexible ductwork systems.
What is a roof cowl used for?
A roof cowl is fitted to the top of a vertical duct that exits through a roof. It allows ventilation air to flow in or out while keeping rain, birds, and debris from entering the duct. They're used on extractor fan outlets, MVHR roof terminals, kitchen extraction systems, and general roof ventilation points.
What's the difference between a roof cowl and a roof vent?
The terms are often used interchangeably, but a cowl typically refers to a directional or domed fitting designed to create a low-pressure zone that aids exhaust flow, while a roof vent is a broader term covering any roof-mounted ventilation terminal. Louvred cowls and mushroom cowls are common types.
Will a roof cowl fit my duct size?
Our roof cowls are available in standard duct diameters — check the individual product listing for compatible sizes. If you need a non-standard size, contact our team.
Are these suitable for flat roofs?
Yes — many cowls in our range are suitable for both flat and pitched roof installations. Check individual product specs for installation angle and any roof pitch requirements.
