The Elta Jetflow SJMF125 is a 125mm inline mixed flow circular duct fan with a single phase EC motor, moving up to 288 m³/h in free air and 169 m³/h against 200 Pa. Its jet design double mixed flow impeller is driven directly by a brushless EC motor running at 5000 rpm, absorbing 0.027 kW at full speed.
The IPX4 motor has sealed for life heavy duty NWB bearings and is rated for air up to 60°C. It arrives with a 1.5m mains lead and UK 3 pin plug (3A fuse) for fixed speed running, plus a detachable 5m jack lead for a potentiometer, 0-10V or PWM speed signal. Elta give a 24 month warranty.

What it is best used for
Small commercial extract on 125mm duct: a run of two or three WCs, a shower room, a staff kitchenette or a small meeting room in an office or school. It keeps 245 m³/h at 100 Pa and 169 m³/h at 200 Pa, so it can push through a long duct run with bends, a backdraught shutter and a grille.
At 288 m³/h free air it is not enough for a classroom or a cafe kitchen. For that, use the Elta SJMF150.

Within the Jetflow range, the SJMF125 sits between the SJMF100 (241 m³/h free air) and the SJMF150. It has the same plug-in EC design as its siblings, so the choice comes down to duct size and duty: at 100 Pa this size delivers 245 m³/h for 0.027 kW.
It is supplied ready to run at fixed full speed on its fitted UK plug, and the detachable 5m jack lead lets you add an Elta 149-POT-10-MI controller, a 0-10V signal or PWM later without rewiring the mains side. Elta's SFP at full speed in free air is 0.3 W/(L/s).
Installation notes
- The fan can be mounted at any angle. Fix it securely to a solid surface and leave access for cleaning and maintenance.
- Connect to 125mm duct with Elta fast clamps (018-125-CLAMP) or flexible connectors so the fan can be removed later. Elta recommend silencers on the inlet and outlet in noise sensitive areas.
- Mains connection is by the fitted 1.5m lead and UK 3 pin plug with a 3A fuse. The fan is supplied for fixed speed; for speed control, remove the 3.5mm jack plug and connect the supplied jack cable to a 149-POT-10-MI, 0-10V or PWM signal (wiring diagram 152-553).
- Do not supply it through a timer or a regularly switched circuit: the EC motor has internal overload protection and may restart unexpectedly once it cools. Indoor use only, ambient -10°C to +60°C, not for corrosive or explosive atmospheres.
- Locate the discharge so exhaust cannot be drawn back through the open flue of a gas or solid fuel appliance, and inspect and clean the fan at least every 12 months.

What duct size does the Elta SJMF125 fit?
It has 125mm circular spigots at each end. Elta recommend fast clamps or flexible connectors so it can be taken out for maintenance.
How much air does the SJMF125 move?
Up to 288 m³/h (0.08 m³/s) in free air at full speed, 245 m³/h at 100 Pa and 169 m³/h at 200 Pa, the highest pressure in Elta's table for this size.
Does the SJMF125 plug into a normal socket?
Yes. It comes with a 1.5m mains lead and a UK 3 pin plug with a 3A fuse, which also gives you a simple means of isolation. It runs single phase 220 to 240V.
How do I control the speed of the SJMF125?
Remove the 3.5mm jack plug and connect the supplied 5m jack lead to an Elta 149-POT-10-MI controller, a 0-10V signal from a BMS or a PWM signal. It works from a 2V control signal upwards.
How noisy is the SJMF125?
Elta quote 47 dB(A) inlet and 48 dB(A) outlet at 3m at full speed. Spigot silencers from 300 to 1200mm long are available to bring that down.
Can the SJMF125 be mounted vertically?
Yes. Elta state the fan can be mounted at any angle, as long as it is securely supported and accessible for maintenance.
