Summary
See more specification See less specification
The Elta Turboflow TF560/4-1AC is a 560mm two stage contra-rotating axial flow fan for higher pressure duct systems. It moves up to 10577 m³/h in free air and the Elta datasheet shows it still delivering 5688 m³/h at 400 Pa, all inside a compact cased unit.
Both motors are airstream rated single phase induction motors with sealed for life bearings, wired through a weatherproofed cable to an IP55 terminal box on the outside of the casing. The casing is heavy gauge steel, hot dip galvanised, it suits internal or external installation and carries a 12 month Elta warranty.
- 1 Phase
- AC Motor
- Up to 10577 m³/h
- Speed Controllable
What it is best used for
Larger plant rooms, factory and warehouse extract, and sports halls on 560mm ductwork. It is the first size in the single phase range rated in the datasheet table right up to 400 Pa, and still moves about 8842 m³/h at 200 Pa.
It is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres, and at 65 dB(A) inlet at 3m it is not a quiet fan, so noise sensitive areas will need Elta flanged silencers. If speed control is needed in an ambient above 50°C, run it at fixed speed or look at a three phase model.
Why choose this over alternatives
Two contra-rotating impellers in series let the TF560 develop far more pressure than a single stage cased axial of the same 560mm diameter, without moving up to a bulkier centrifugal box. The impellers are adjustable pitch aerofoils in pressure die cast aluminium, and Elta quote around 7% better efficiency from the increased blade chord and twist.
Need more air? The Elta TF630 moves up to 16560 m³/h (about 13766 m³/h at 200 Pa) on 630mm ductwork. Three phase versions of the Turboflow range are also made, so ask us if a three phase supply is available.
Installation notes
- The fan can be mounted at any angle. Make sure it is adequately supported and leave easy access to the casing and the IP55 terminal box for maintenance.
- Wire to Elta diagram 152-510. Fit a means of electrical isolation, and Elta recommend a starter with overload protection because fuses and breakers only give short circuit protection.
- Locate the discharge so exhaust air cannot be drawn back through the open flue of a gas or other fuel burning appliance.
- At first start up check that both impellers turn the right way, the airflow direction is correct and the current does not exceed the nameplate rating.
- Inspect and clean the motor, blades and guards at least once every 12 months. Bearings are sealed for life.
You'll also need
- Elta matching flanges 560mm (061B-0560) for bolting the fan to flanged ductwork, sold each.
- Elta 149-TC110 transformer speed controller the controller Elta list for this fan, available to order, ask us.
- Elta flexible connector 063-0560-MAN150 and AV mounts 062-003 to stop vibration reaching the ductwork, available to order, ask us.
- Elta ancillary pack APK560SI/003 (flexible connections, matching flanges, AV mounts and mounting feet) available to order, ask us.

What is a contra-rotating fan and why does the TF560 have two stages?
It has two impellers, one behind the other, turning in opposite directions. The second stage recovers the swirl from the first, so the TF560 reaches 400 Pa in the Elta datasheet table where a single stage cased axial of the same 560mm size would run out of pressure.
How much air does the Turboflow TF560 move?
Up to 10577 m³/h in free air, about 8842 m³/h at 200 Pa and 5688 m³/h at 400 Pa. Send us your system resistance and we will confirm the duty point.
Can the TF560 be speed controlled?
Yes. Elta list the 149-TC110 transformer controller for this fan. Speed controlled, the fan is rated for ambients up to +50°C rather than +70°C at fixed speed.
Can the TF560 be installed outside?
Yes. Elta rate the Turboflow for internal or external use. The motors are wired via a weatherproofed cable to an IP55 terminal box on the outside of the casing.
Can it be mounted vertically?
Yes. The motors have sealed for life ball bearings, so the fan can be mounted at any angle as long as it is properly supported.
How do I choose between the TF450, TF500, TF560 and TF630?
Match the fan to your duct size and duty. In free air they move 7452, 8222, 10577 and 16560 m³/h. The TF450 and TF500 are rated to 300 Pa and the TF560 and TF630 to 400 Pa in the Elta table. Send us your airflow and pressure if you are between sizes.
