Summary
See more specification See less specification
The Elta SSDL100-1EC is a 100mm Singleflow SSDL centrifugal box fan with long circular inlet and outlet spigots and no terminal box. It moves up to 486 m³/h in free air, 403 m³/h at 200 Pa and still 259 m³/h at 500 Pa, the highest pressure in Elta's published table.
A single phase EC external rotor motor (220-240V 50/60Hz) drives a backward curved impeller balanced to ISO1940-1, at up to 3665 rpm with an integrated commissioning control for setting speed. The 1.2mm galvanised steel casing is acoustically lined and suitable for external mounting, the IP44 motor has sealed for life bearings and runs in air from -20°C to +60°C, and Elta backs it with a 12 month warranty.

What it is best used for
Small extract duties on 100mm duct where the fan has to sit outside the room or outside the building: a single WC or shower room, a cleaner's store, a tea point or a small office. At 100 Pa it moves 446 m³/h, which is roughly 10 air changes an hour in a room of about 45 m³.
It is not the right fan for an in-room extract point on its own: for a single bathroom with a short duct a small inline or wall fan is cheaper and simpler. Like every SSDL it is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres, and the air must stay between -20°C and +60°C.
Why choose this over alternatives
This is the 100mm SSDL with circular spigots. Pick this version for standard circular ductwork when you will wire the fan without a terminal box, using the cable entry on either side. The fan, motor and performance are identical across the four versions, so the choice is only about duct shape and wiring. The same size is also available as Elta SSDL100-1EC-T (circular spigots with terminal box), Elta SSDL100-1EC-R (rectangular spigots) and Elta SSDL100-1EC-RT (rectangular spigots with terminal box).
The SSDL100, SSDL125 and SSDL150 share the same casing, the same 15 kg weight and the same 0.97 A motor, so the difference is spigot size and airflow. At 100 Pa the 100 gives 446 m³/h against 547 m³/h for the Elta SSDL125-1EC and 605 m³/h for the Elta SSDL150-1EC. Choose the 100 when the duct really is 100mm; if you can run 125mm duct, the 125 moves nearly a quarter more air for the same power.
Installation notes
- Mount it at any angle, indoors or outside, on drop rods or Elta's SEL anti-vibration mounts (upright or inverted), make sure it is adequately supported, and leave access for maintenance.
- The long circular spigots take standard 100mm flexible or rigid circular duct directly; secure each joint with a clamp.
- There is no terminal box on this version; the supply cable enters from either side of the casing. Fit a local means of isolation as the wiring regulations require.
- Speed is set on the built-in commissioning potentiometer. To use an external potentiometer or a 0-10V BMS signal, remove the jumper link and connect to ST1; the commissioning setting then caps the maximum speed.
- Disconnect the fan before any insulation resistance testing. Elta warn this can damage the EC electronics and is not covered by warranty.

What is the difference between the SSDL100-1EC, -R, -T and -RT?
This is the plain version: 100mm circular spigots and no terminal box. -T adds a pre-fitted terminal box, -R swaps to rectangular spigots, and -RT has both. Performance is the same on all four.
How much air does the SSDL100-1EC move?
Up to 486 m³/h in free air at full speed, 446 m³/h at 100 Pa, 403 m³/h at 200 Pa and 259 m³/h at 500 Pa.
How do I control the speed?
The built-in commissioning potentiometer sets a single speed or a maximum speed. For user control, Elta list the 149-POT-10-MI EC controller, or you can feed a 0-10V signal from a BMS after removing the jumper link.
Can it be mounted outside or on its side?
Yes. The SSDL is suitable for external mounting and can be mounted at any angle. The motor is IP44 and the fan is rated for air from -20°C to +60°C, up to 90% relative humidity.
How noisy is it?
At full speed Elta quote 54 dB(A) at the inlet, 56 dB(A) at the outlet and 47 dB(A) breakout at 3m. The casing is acoustically lined, and 068-0100-JF spigot silencers from 300 to 1200mm long are available to order.
What power supply does it need?
A single phase 220 to 240V 50/60Hz supply. Peak current is 0.97 A, and it uses Elta wiring diagram 152-712.
