Summary
See more specification See less specification
The Elta SPA710/68-3AC is a 710mm Raptor plate mounted axial fan with a slow running two speed three phase motor, moving up to 14548 m³/h on high speed and still delivering 7693 m³/h at 150 Pa. On low speed it moves 12632 m³/h at 46 dB(A).
The 380-415V AC external rotor motor runs at 899 rpm in delta and 676 rpm in star, insulated to Class F with integral thermal overload protection, drawing 861 W and 1.72 A on high speed. It uses the Ziehl-Abegg FE2owlet aerofoil impeller with serrated trailing edges, is weatherproofed to IP54 with an IP55 terminal box, and carries a 12 month Elta warranty.
- 3 Phase
- AC Motor
- Up to 14548 m³/h
- Speed Controllable
What it is best used for
Quiet, high volume ventilation on three phase sites: sports halls, school halls, retail parks, warehouses and factories with nearby offices. At 14548 m³/h it gives about 6 air changes an hour in a 2420 m³ space, for example 36m x 16.8m with a 4m ceiling.
For heavy resistance above 150 Pa, or more than 14548 m³/h, use the SPA710/46-3AC. It is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres.
Why choose this over alternatives
The Elta SPA710/46-3AC moves 22565 m³/h but at 60 dB(A), 2.57 kW and 40 kg. This /68 version is 11 dB(A) quieter, draws 861 W and weighs 34 kg. Elta's Compact SCP710/6/8-3AC is a close alternative at 15044 m³/h, and the Elta SPA710/6-3EC gives stepless 0-10V control at 14029 m³/h.
Installation notes
- Mount the fan plate securely at any angle, in a wall, panel or bulkhead, using the four corner fixing holes, and leave access for future maintenance.
- Wire to Elta diagram 152-108. Delta connection gives high speed, star gives low speed, and a star/delta switch can be fitted to select between them. Swap any two supply phases to reverse rotation.
- For variable speed, Elta pair this fan with the 149-TC33 three phase transformer controller wired through its own terminal box.
- The thermal contacts (TB TB) must be wired into the starter or controller circuit so the motor is protected. Fit a local means of isolation.
- At first start check rotation, airflow direction and that the running current does not exceed the rating plate. Inspect and clean blades and guards at least every 12 months.
