Summary
See more specification See less specification
The Elta SPA710/6-3EC is a 710mm Raptor plate mounted axial fan with a three phase EC motor, moving up to 14029 m³/h at full speed and working against static pressures up to 200 Pa, while drawing only 1.80 A per phase.
The EC external rotor motor has an integrated variable speed drive, runs on 380-480V 50/60Hz and reaches 962 rpm at 10V, drawing 770 W. Speed is set by a 0-10V signal or potentiometer. The Ziehl-Abegg FE2owlet aerofoil impeller has serrated trailing edges and winglets, the motor is weatherproofed to IP54 with an IP55 terminal box, and Elta give a 12 month warranty.
- 3 Phase
- EC Motor
- Up to 14029 m³/h
- Speed Controllable
What it is best used for
Variable volume extract or supply on three phase sites, linked to a BMS, CO2 or temperature sensor: warehouses, factories, sports halls, retail parks and school halls. At 14029 m³/h it gives about 6 air changes an hour in a 2340 m³ space, for example 36m x 16m with a 4m ceiling.
Airflow drops away sharply above 150 Pa, so it is not a substitute for a ducted cased axial. It is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres.
Why choose this over alternatives
Against the AC Elta SPA710/68-3AC, which moves a similar 14548 m³/h, the EC version gives stepless speed control without a separate transformer controller and integrates with a BMS through 0-10V. The single phase Elta SPA710/6-1EC moves 13104 m³/h for sites without three phase, and the Elta SPA710/46-3AC is the choice when you need 22565 m³/h.
Installation notes
- Mount the fan plate securely at any angle, in a wall, panel or bulkhead, using the four corner fixing holes, and leave access for future maintenance.
- Supply is 380-480V three phase 50/60Hz. Wire to Elta diagram 152-MOEA03K3. The motor has an integrated variable speed drive with a 10V output and a 0-10V input, so speed is set by the 149-POT-10-MI potentiometer or a 0-10V signal from a BMS.
- Disconnect the EC fan before any insulation resistance testing on the circuit. Elta warn that testing with it connected can damage the electronics and is not covered by warranty.
- The EC motor has internal electronic overload protection and may restart on its own after a fault clears, so isolate the supply before maintenance.
- At first start check rotation and airflow direction. Inspect and clean blades and guards at least every 12 months.
You'll also need
- Elta EC electronic controller 149-POT-10-MI for manual speed control.
- Elta 064-0710-C louvre shutter available to order, ask us
