The Elta SPA710/46-3AC is the largest and most powerful Raptor plate mounted axial fan, a 710mm unit moving up to 22565 m³/h on high speed and still delivering 13666 m³/h at 250 Pa. On low speed it moves 18976 m³/h.
The 380-415V AC external rotor motor runs at 1358 rpm in delta and 1091 rpm in star, insulated to Class F with integral thermal overload protection, drawing 2.57 kW and 4.88 A on high speed. It uses the Ziehl-Abegg FE2owlet aerofoil impeller, is weatherproofed to IP54 with an IP55 terminal box, and carries a 12 month Elta warranty.

What it is best used for
The biggest volume jobs a single plate fan can handle: warehouse and distribution sheds, factories, industrial units, large sports halls and heat or fume extract from production areas. At 22565 m³/h it gives about 6 air changes an hour in a 3760 m³ space, for example 47m x 16m with a 5m ceiling.
At 60 dB(A) at 3m it belongs in industrial and commercial plant spaces rather than quiet occupied rooms. It is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres, and long ducted systems need a cased axial fan.
Why choose this over alternatives

Installation notes
- Mount the fan plate securely at any angle, in a wall, panel or bulkhead, using the four corner fixing holes, and leave access for future maintenance.
- Wire to Elta diagram 152-108. Delta connection gives high speed, star gives low speed, and a star/delta switch can be fitted to select between them. Swap any two supply phases to reverse rotation.
- For variable speed, Elta pair this fan with the 149-TC310 three phase transformer controller wired through its own terminal box.
- The thermal contacts (TB TB) must be wired into the starter or controller circuit so the motor is protected. Fit a local means of isolation.
- Elta list a start current of 21.0 A in delta and a fan weight of 40 kg, so size the protective devices and check the structure. Clean blades and guards at least every 12 months.
