Summary

The Elta SPA630/6-1AC is a 630mm Raptor plate mounted axial fan with a 6 pole single phase motor, moving up to 10958 m³/h in free air and working against static pressures up to 100 Pa. It runs at 49 dB(A) at 3m.
It runs on a 220-240V AC external rotor motor at 892 rpm, insulated to Class F with integral thermal overload protection, drawing 660 W and 3.10 A. The Ziehl-Abegg FE2owlet aerofoil impeller has serrated trailing edges and winglets for lower noise, the motor is weatherproofed to IP54 with an IP55 terminal box, and Elta give a 12 month warranty.
- 1 Phase
- AC Motor
- Up to 10958 m³/h
- Speed Controllable
What it is best used for
Through-wall extract or supply on a single phase supply where noise matters, in warehouses, distribution sheds, factories, sports halls and large industrial units, often as a bank of fans along one wall. At 10958 m³/h it gives about 6 air changes an hour in a space of roughly 1800 m³, for example 30m x 15m with a 4m ceiling.
It is a low pressure fan. The datasheet shows airflow only up to 100 Pa, so it is the wrong choice for ducting or heavy louvres; use a cased axial or inline mixed flow fan there. It is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres.
Why choose this over alternatives
Against the Compact Elta SCP630/4-1AC (17194 m³/h, up to 150 Pa, 1.45 kW, 63 dB(A)), the Raptor is quieter, thanks to its Ziehl-Abegg impeller and external rotor motor, but moves less air. On a three phase site the Elta SPA630/68-3AC gives similar air (11214 m³/h, up to 100 Pa, 630 W, 50 dB(A) on high speed) with a second, slower speed. For 0-10V control and more pressure, the EC Elta SPA630/4-1EC gives 11401 m³/h, up to 200 Pa, 772 W, 53 dB(A).
Installation notes
- Mount the 805 x 805mm fan plate securely at any angle using the four 11mm holes on 750mm centres. Make sure the structure can carry its 26 kg and leave access for maintenance.
- The motor is prewired to an IP55 terminal box on a flying lead, so the box can be placed to suit the incoming supply. Wire to Elta diagram 152-104B and make all earth connections.
- Speed can be controlled with the 149-EL61TK electronic controller or the 149-TC18 five step transformer controller. Wire the thermal contacts into the controller circuit as shown on the diagram.
- Fit a local means of isolation. The AC motor has an auto-reset thermal cut-out, so isolate the supply before any work because the fan can restart on its own once it cools.
- At first start check impeller rotation and airflow direction, and that the running current does not exceed the rating plate. Inspect and clean blades and guards at least every 12 months.
You'll also need
- Elta 149-EL61TK electronic speed controller (6 amp) for variable speed.
- Elta 149-TC18 five step transformer controller (8 amp) as an alternative.
- Elta 064-0630-C louvre shutter available to order, ask us
- Elta SWC56/63 wall cowl available to order, ask us
