The Elta SPA630/46-3AC is a 630mm Raptor plate mounted axial fan with a two speed three phase motor, moving up to 16549 m³/h on high speed and still delivering 10112 m³/h at 250 Pa. No other 630mm Raptor moves as much air at 250 Pa. On low speed it moves 13748 m³/h.
The 380-415V AC external rotor motor runs at 1327 rpm in delta and 919 rpm in star, insulated to Class F with integral thermal overload protection, drawing 1.81 kW and 3.43 A on high speed. It uses the Ziehl-Abegg FE2owlet aerofoil impeller, is weatherproofed to IP54 with an IP55 terminal box, and carries a 12 month Elta warranty.

What it is best used for
Heavy duty extract in warehouses, factories, industrial units, large kitchens and sports halls where the fan has to push through louvres, cowls or a short plenum. At 16549 m³/h it gives about 6 air changes an hour in a 2750 m³ space, for example 40m x 17m with a 4m ceiling.
At 67 dB(A) at 3m on high speed it is a loud fan, so it is better suited to industrial spaces than offices or classrooms. It is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres.
Why choose this over alternatives
The 630mm Raptor comes in several versions. The Elta SPA630/68-3AC is the quiet two speed option at 50 dB(A) but moves 11214 m³/h and runs out of pressure at 100 Pa. The SPA630/46-3AC gives about 50% more air and still moves 10112 m³/h at 250 Pa. For variable speed with lower running costs, the EC Elta SPA630/4-3EC moves up to 13122 m³/h.
Installation notes
- Mount the fan plate securely at any angle, in a wall, panel or bulkhead, using the four corner fixing holes, and leave access for future maintenance.
- Wire to Elta diagram 152-108. Delta connection gives high speed, star gives low speed, and a star/delta switch can be fitted to select between them. Swap any two supply phases to reverse rotation.
- For variable speed, Elta pair this fan with the 149-TC310 three phase transformer controller wired through its own terminal box.
- The thermal contacts (TB TB) must be wired into the starter or controller circuit so the motor is protected. Fit a local means of isolation.
- Elta list a start current of 21.0 A in delta, so size protective devices and the starter accordingly. Check rotation and running current at first start and clean blades and guards at least every 12 months.

What is the difference between the SPA630/46-3AC and SPA630/68-3AC?
