Summary

The Elta SPA560/6-1AC is a 560mm Raptor plate mounted axial fan with a 6 pole motor, moving up to 7981 m³/h and still delivering 4788 m³/h at 100 Pa. It is the quieter single phase 560mm Raptor, at 52 dB(A) at 3m.
It runs on a single phase 220-240V AC external rotor motor at 930 rpm, insulated to Class F with integral thermal overload protection, drawing 390 W and 2.80 A. The Ziehl-Abegg FE2owlet aerofoil impeller has serrated trailing edges and winglets, the motor is weatherproofed to IP54 with an IP55 terminal box, and Elta give a 12 month warranty.
- 1 Phase
- AC Motor
- Up to 7981 m³/h
- Speed Controllable
What it is best used for
Large volume ventilation on a single phase supply where noise matters: sports halls, school halls, gyms, shops, retail parks and workshops. At 7981 m³/h it gives about 6 air changes an hour in a 1330 m³ space, for example 25m x 13m with a 4.1m ceiling.
Above 100 Pa it runs out of pressure, so for ducted systems choose a cased axial or mixed flow fan. It is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres.
Why choose this over alternatives
The 4 pole Elta SPA560/4-1AC moves 12578 m³/h but draws 1.15 kW and 5.10 A at 63 dB(A), and Elta list no electronic controller for it. The SPA560/6-1AC uses 390 W, runs 11 dB(A) quieter and works with the 149-EL61TK electronic controller. For more air at similar noise, the Elta SPA630/6-1AC moves 10958 m³/h.
Installation notes
- Mount the fan plate securely at any angle, in a wall, panel or bulkhead, using the four corner fixing holes. Make sure the structure can carry the fan and leave access for future maintenance.
- The motor is prewired to an IP55 terminal box on a flying lead, so the box can be placed to suit the incoming supply. Wire to Elta diagram 152-104B and make all earth connections.
- Speed can be controlled with the Elta 149-EL61TK electronic controller or the 149-TC14 five step transformer controller. Wire the thermal contacts into the controller circuit.
- Fit a local means of isolation. The AC motor has an auto-reset thermal cut-out, so isolate the supply before any work because the fan can restart on its own once it cools.
- At first start check impeller rotation and airflow direction, and that the running current does not exceed the rating plate. Inspect and clean blades and guards at least every 12 months.
You'll also need
- Elta 149-EL61TK electronic controller (6 amp) for variable speed.
- Elta 149-TC14 five step transformer controller (4 amp) as an alternative.
- Elta 064-0560-C louvre shutter available to order, ask us
- Elta SWC56/63 wall cowl available to order, ask us
