Summary

The Elta SPA560/46-3AC is a 560mm Raptor plate mounted axial fan with a two speed three phase motor, moving up to 11336 m³/h on high speed and still delivering 7729 m³/h at 150 Pa. On low speed it moves 8910 m³/h.
The 380-415V AC external rotor motor runs at 1293 rpm in delta and 995 rpm in star, insulated to Class F with integral thermal overload protection, drawing 1.04 kW and 2.40 A on high speed. It uses the Ziehl-Abegg FE2owlet aerofoil impeller, is weatherproofed to IP54 with an IP55 terminal box, and carries a 12 month Elta warranty.
- 3 Phase
- AC Motor
- Up to 11336 m³/h
- Speed Controllable
What it is best used for
High volume extract or supply in warehouses, factories, industrial units, sports halls and large retail spaces with a three phase supply. At 11336 m³/h it gives about 6 air changes an hour in a 1890 m³ space, for example 30m x 15m with a 4.2m ceiling. Its 150 Pa capability means it copes with louvre shutters and cowls.
It is still a plate fan, so long duct runs need a cased axial or mixed flow fan. It is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres. On a single phase supply, look at the SPA560/4-1AC or SPA560/6-1AC.
Why choose this over alternatives
The single phase Elta SPA560/4-1AC moves a little more air (12578 m³/h) but draws 5.10 A on one phase and has no second speed. The SPA560/46-3AC spreads the load across three phases at 2.40 A and gives a quieter low speed setting through star/delta switching. For quiet single phase running, the Elta SPA560/6-1AC moves 7981 m³/h, and for more air the Elta SPA630/46-3AC moves 16549 m³/h.
Installation notes
- Mount the fan plate securely at any angle, in a wall, panel or bulkhead, using the four corner fixing holes, and leave access for future maintenance.
- Wire to Elta diagram 152-108. Delta connection gives high speed, star gives low speed, and a star/delta switch can be fitted to select between them. Swap any two supply phases to reverse rotation.
- For variable speed, Elta pair this fan with the 149-TC33 three phase transformer controller wired through its own terminal box.
- The thermal contacts (TB TB) must be wired into the starter or controller circuit so the motor is protected. Fit a local means of isolation.
- At first start check rotation, airflow direction and that the running current does not exceed the rating plate. Inspect and clean blades and guards at least every 12 months.

How much air does the Elta SPA560/46-3AC move?
Up to 11336 m³/h on high speed, 10429 m³/h at 50 Pa, 9252 m³/h at 100 Pa and 7729 m³/h at 150 Pa.
What does low speed give?
Wired in star it runs at 995 rpm, moving 8910 m³/h at 51 dB(A) and drawing 570 W.
Which variable speed controller suits it?
Elta specify the 149-TC33 three phase transformer controller, available to order through us.
What size plate and opening?
725 x 725mm plate with four 10mm holes on 670mm centres, for a 560mm opening.
Can it handle a louvre shutter or cowl?
Yes. It still moves 7729 m³/h at 150 Pa, so it copes with an Elta 064-0560-C shutter or SWC56/63 cowl.
How noisy is it?
57 dB(A) at 3m on high speed and 51 dB(A) on low speed.
