Summary
See more specification See less specification
The Elta SLC710/4A-3AC is a 710mm Revolution long cased axial fan and the smaller motor of the two four pole 710mm models. It moves up to 26852 m³/h at free air and 17543 m³/h against 300 Pa, from a 4 pole three phase AC motor running at 1440 rpm.
The casing is heavy gauge steel, hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and suitable for external mounting, with a die cast aluminium aerofoil impeller. The motor is IP55 with sealed for life bearings, wired to an IP55 terminal box on the outside of the case. The IE2 motor is designed for use with a frequency inverter. Elta give a 12 month warranty.
- 3 Phase
- AC Motor
- Up to 26852 m³/h
- Speed Controllable
What it is best used for
Very large air volumes on three phase: warehouse and distribution centre ventilation, factory general extract, large sports halls, livestock buildings and plant cooling, ducted up to 300 Pa. It moves 26852 m³/h at free air, about 10 air changes an hour in roughly 2690 m³.
It is 70 kg and 71 dB(A) at 3m, and Elta list only a three phase input inverter for it. Plan supports, isolation and attenuation from the start.
Why choose this over alternatives
The Elta SLC710/4B-3AC in the same casing adds about 1950 m³/h at free air and about 3985 m³/h at 300 Pa, for 4.46 kW against 3.37 kW. Choose the 4A when its curve covers your duty, as it is cheaper to run.
If you do not need 710mm, the Elta SLC630/4B-3AC moves 20243 m³/h on 2.24 kW.
Installation notes
- Mount at any angle, horizontally in a duct run or vertically, but make sure the fan is adequately supported: it weighs 70 kg. AV mounts and mounting feet are available from Elta.
- The flanges are 795mm outside diameter with 16 holes of 12mm on a 770mm PCD. Use Elta matching flanges and flexible connectors to join it to ductwork.
- Fit a local isolator, and protect the motor with a starter or controller that has overload protection; fuses and breakers only give short circuit protection. Do not use the isolator for day to day on and off control.
- Wire to diagram 152-600 (star connected, 380-415V three phase). Check rotation and airflow direction at first start and that the running current does not exceed the nameplate.
- Not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres. Inspect and clean the impeller, motor and guards at least every 12 months.
You'll also need
- Elta matching flanges 061B-0710 (sold each, one per ducted side; available to order, ask us)
- Eltadrive 149-ODE3-24400-3KA4B inverter for a three phase supply (available to order, ask us)
- Elta APK710/004 ancillary pack (flexible connections, matching flanges, AV mounts and mounting feet in one code; available to order, ask us)

What size duct does the Elta SLC710/4A-3AC fit?
It is a 710mm fan with 710mm inside the casing. The flanges are 795mm outside diameter with 16 holes of 12mm on a 770mm PCD, and the case is 450mm long (dimension C).
How much air does it move?
Up to 26852 m³/h (7.459 m³/s) at free air, falling to 17543 m³/h at 300 Pa, the highest pressure in Elta's table for this model.
Is the SLC710/4A-3AC single or three phase?
Three phase, 380-415V 50Hz, star connected. Peak current is 6.17 A.
Can I control the speed of the SLC710/4A-3AC?
Yes, with a three phase frequency inverter. Elta list the Eltadrive 149-ODE3-24400-3KA4B. No single phase input drive or transformer controller is listed for this model.
How noisy is it?
71 dB(A) at 3m in free field, per Elta's data. Elta offer podded and unpodded silencers in 1D and 2D lengths for this size if you need it quieter.
Can it be mounted outside or vertically?
Yes. The galvanised casing is suitable for external mounting as standard and the fan can be mounted at any angle. For explosive atmospheres you need the ATEX rated Elta SLCX range instead.
