Summary
See more specification See less specification
The Elta SLC630/4-1AC is a 630mm Revolution long cased axial fan and a single phase four pole model at 630mm. It moves up to 14519 m³/h at free air and 10411 m³/h against 150 Pa, from a 4 pole single phase AC motor running at 1375 rpm.
The casing is heavy gauge steel, hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and suitable for external mounting, with a die cast aluminium aerofoil impeller. The motor is IP55 with sealed for life bearings, wired to an IP55 terminal box on the outside of the case. Speed control is by a 149-TC18 transformer controller. Elta give a 12 month warranty. This model appears in Elta's 2022 SLC datasheet; the current issue lists the SLC630/4B-1AC at this size.
- 1 Phase
- AC Motor
- Up to 14519 m³/h
- Speed Controllable
What it is best used for
High volume ventilation where only single phase is available: large sports halls, agricultural and livestock buildings, warehouses and workshops, wall mounted or ducted up to 150 Pa. It moves 14519 m³/h at free air, roughly 10 air changes an hour in about 1451 m³.
It draws up to 4.99 A, so check the circuit. At 150 Pa it is down to 10411 m³/h; for higher pressure on single phase the SLC630/4B-1AC (to 250 Pa) or the SLC630-1EC (to 400 Pa) are the better fit.
Why choose this over alternatives
Against the Elta SLC630/4B-1AC, which moves 14580 m³/h and reaches 250 Pa on 1.399 kW, this model uses 1.12 kW and is the lighter fan at 41 kg. Choose it for low resistance systems; choose the 4B where the duct run is longer.
For variable speed with lower running costs, the Elta SLC630-1EC moves 14972 m³/h at full speed with 0 to 10V control.
Installation notes
- Mount at any angle, horizontally in a duct run or vertically, and make sure the fan is adequately supported: it weighs 41 kg. AV mounts and mounting feet are available from Elta.
- The flanges are 715mm outside diameter with 12 holes of 12mm on a 690mm PCD. Use Elta matching flanges and flexible connectors to join it to ductwork.
- Fit a local isolator, and protect the motor with a starter or controller that has overload protection; fuses and breakers only give short circuit protection. Do not use the isolator for day to day on and off control.
- Wire to diagram 152-502 for 220-240V single phase (remove the U1 to Z2 link when fitting the transformer controller). Check rotation and airflow direction at first start and that the running current does not exceed the nameplate.
- Not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres. Inspect and clean the impeller, motor and guards at least every 12 months.
You'll also need
- Elta matching flanges 630mm (061B-0630) (sold each, one per ducted side)
- Elta 149-TC18 transformer speed controller (the controller Elta list for this model)
- Elta APK630/003 ancillary pack (flexible connections, matching flanges, AV mounts and mounting feet in one code; available to order, ask us)

What size duct does the Elta SLC630/4-1AC fit?
It is a 630mm fan with 630mm inside the casing. The flanges are 715mm outside diameter with 12 holes of 12mm on a 690mm PCD, and the case is 400mm long.
How much air does it move?
Up to 14519 m³/h (4.033 m³/s) at free air, falling to 10411 m³/h at 150 Pa, the highest pressure in Elta's table for this model.
Is the SLC630/4-1AC single or three phase?
Single phase, 220-240V 50Hz. Peak current is 4.99 A.
Which speed controller does the SLC630/4-1AC need?
Elta's datasheet that covers this model (SLC-09-2022 Issue I) lists the 149-TC18 single phase 5 step transformer controller. Peak current is 4.99 A, inside its 8 A rating.
How noisy is it?
60 dB(A) at 3m in free field, per Elta's data. Elta offer podded and unpodded silencers in 1D and 2D lengths for this size if you need it quieter.
Can it be mounted outside or vertically?
Yes. The galvanised casing is suitable for external mounting as standard and the fan can be mounted at any angle. For explosive atmospheres you need the ATEX rated Elta SLCX range instead.
