The Elta SLC560-1EC is a 560mm Revolution long cased axial fan with a single phase EC motor. At full speed it moves up to 10804 m³/h at free air and 2700 m³/h against 350 Pa, with the speed fully variable from a 2 to 10V signal, 4 to 20mA, PWM or a potentiometer.
The casing is heavy gauge steel, hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and suitable for external mounting, with a die cast aluminium aerofoil impeller. The IE5 EC motor has its variable speed drive built in, is IP55 with sealed for life bearings, runs on 220-277V 50/60Hz and is rated for air up to +60°C. Elta give a 12 month warranty.

What it is best used for
Variable speed ventilation on a single phase supply where running cost and control matter: kitchen canopy systems, sports halls, warehouses and agricultural buildings. It moves 10804 m³/h at full speed (10V) and can be turned down with a 2 to 10V signal, 4 to 20mA, PWM or a potentiometer to match the actual demand.
At full speed it reaches 350 Pa (2700 m³/h at that pressure). It is not for explosive atmospheres (use the ATEX SLCX range), and it must be disconnected before any insulation resistance testing, which can damage the electronics.
Why choose this over alternatives
Against the AC Elta SLC560/4B-1AC (11804 m³/h, to 200 Pa), the EC model gives stepless speed control without a separate transformer, an integrated drive and an IE5 motor, with 68.3% overall fan efficiency at its best efficiency point. The AC fan is the lower cost choice where fixed or stepped speed is enough.

Installation notes
- Mount at any angle, horizontally in a duct run or vertically, and make sure the fan is adequately supported: it weighs 37 kg. AV mounts and mounting feet are available from Elta.
- The flanges are 645mm outside diameter with 12 holes of 12mm on a 620mm PCD. Use Elta matching flanges and flexible connectors to join it to ductwork.
- Allow at least 5 minutes between switching the supply off and on: the motor has a delayed start and should not be cycled at the isolator. Day to day control should be by the speed control input or controller.
- Disconnect the fan before any insulation resistance testing, as it can damage the EC electronics. The terminal box takes one 20mm and one 25mm conduit fitting.
- Wire to diagram 152-710 or 152-736 as shown on the product label. The motor has an auto reset thermal contact, so isolate before maintenance as the fan may restart once cooled.

What size duct does the Elta SLC560-1EC fit?

How do I control the speed of the SLC560-1EC?
The drive is built into the fan. Elta list the 149-POT-10-MI EC electronic controller, and the fan also accepts 2 to 10V DC, 4 to 20mA or a 10 to 95% PWM signal from a BMS or sensor. A 149-CD-POT commissioning device on the fan sets the maximum speed.
How noisy is it?
63 dB(A) at 3m in free field at full speed, per Elta's data, and much quieter when turned down. Elta offer 1D and 2D silencers for this size if you need it quieter.
Can it be mounted outside or vertically?
Yes. The galvanised casing is suitable for external mounting as standard and the fan can be mounted at any angle. For explosive atmospheres you need the ATEX rated Elta SLCX range instead.
