Summary

The Elta SLC450/4-1AC is a 450mm Revolution long cased axial fan and the four pole single phase AC model at 450mm. It moves up to 6059 m³/h at free air and 4770 m³/h against 100 Pa, from a 4 pole single phase AC motor running at 1465 rpm.
The casing is heavy gauge steel, hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and suitable for external mounting, with a die cast aluminium aerofoil impeller. The motor is IP55 with sealed for life bearings, wired to an IP55 terminal box on the outside of the case. Elta list no speed controller for this model, so it runs at fixed speed. Elta give a 12 month warranty.
- 1 Phase
- AC Motor
- Up to 6059 m³/h
- Fixed Speed
What it is best used for
General ventilation at low pressure where only single phase is available: workshops, small warehouses, agricultural buildings, plant rooms and school halls, wall mounted or on short duct runs. It moves 6059 m³/h at free air, roughly 10 air changes an hour in about 605 m³, at 57 dB(A) at 3m.
Its table stops at 100 Pa (4770 m³/h). Elta list no speed controller for this model, so treat it as fixed speed. If you need variable speed on single phase, the SLC450-1EC is the better choice.
Why choose this over alternatives
The Elta SLC450-1EC is the variable speed alternative at the same size: 5911 m³/h at full speed and a curve that runs to 250 Pa, with 0 to 10V or potentiometer control. Choose this AC model when fixed speed is all you need.
For high pressure on single phase, the two pole Elta SLC450/2-1AC reaches 500 Pa but draws 8.8 A and is 71 dB(A). With three phase available, the Elta SLC450/4-3AC moves 6991 m³/h, can be inverter or transformer controlled, and holds 4601 m³/h at 150 Pa.
Installation notes
- Mount at any angle, horizontally in a duct run or vertically, and make sure the fan is adequately supported: it weighs 35 kg. AV mounts and mounting feet are available from Elta.
- The flanges are 530mm outside diameter with 8 holes of 12mm on a 500mm PCD. Use Elta matching flanges and flexible connectors to join it to ductwork.
- Fit a local isolator, and protect the motor with a starter or controller that has overload protection; fuses and breakers only give short circuit protection. Do not use the isolator for day to day on and off control.
- Wire to diagram 152-502 for 220-240V single phase. Check rotation and airflow direction at first start and that the running current does not exceed the nameplate.
- Not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres. Inspect and clean the impeller, motor and guards at least every 12 months.
You'll also need
- Elta matching flanges 450mm (061B-0450) (sold each, one per ducted side)
- Elta APK450/003 ancillary pack (flexible connections, matching flanges, AV mounts and mounting feet in one code; available to order, ask us)

What size duct does the Elta SLC450/4-1AC fit?
It is a 450mm fan with 450mm inside the casing. The flanges are 530mm outside diameter with 8 holes of 12mm on a 500mm PCD, and the case is 375mm long.
How much air does it move?
Up to 6059 m³/h (1.683 m³/s) at free air, falling to 4770 m³/h at 100 Pa, the highest pressure in Elta's table for this model.
Is the SLC450/4-1AC single or three phase?
Single phase, 220-240V 50Hz. Peak current is 1.73 A.
Can I control the speed of the SLC450/4-1AC?
Elta's accessory table lists no speed controller for this model, so treat it as fixed speed. If you need variable speed, the SLC450-1EC (0 to 10V) or the three phase SLC450/4-3AC with a 149-TC33 transformer or Eltadrive inverter are the alternatives.
How noisy is it?
57 dB(A) at 3m in free field, per Elta's data. Elta offer podded and unpodded silencers in 1D and 2D lengths for this size if you need it quieter.
Can it be mounted outside or vertically?
Yes. The galvanised casing is suitable for external mounting as standard and the fan can be mounted at any angle. For explosive atmospheres you need the ATEX rated Elta SLCX range instead.
