Summary

The Elta SCP630/4-1AC is a 630mm Compact SCP plate mounted axial fan with a single phase 4 pole AC motor, moving up to 17194 m³/h in free air and working against static pressures up to 150 Pa. It is built for moving large volumes of air against low resistance, straight through a wall, panel or bulkhead.
The 220-240V induction motor runs at 1295 rpm with greased for life ball bearings, drawing 1.45 kW and 6.50 A. The Series 1 impeller has adjustable pitch GRP aerofoil blades, the mild steel plate and motor are powder coated and the guards epoxy coated, an IP55 terminal box is fitted on 550mm of flexible conduit, and Elta give a 12 month warranty.
- 1 Phase
- AC Motor
- Up to 17194 m³/h
- Speed Controllable
What it is best used for
Through-wall extract or supply on a single phase supply in warehouses, distribution sheds, factories, sports halls and large industrial units, often as a bank of fans along one wall. At 17194 m³/h it gives about 6 air changes an hour in a space of roughly 2888 m³, for example 38m x 19m with a 4m ceiling.
It is a low pressure fan. The datasheet shows airflow only up to 150 Pa, so it is the wrong choice for ducted systems or heavy louvres; use a cased axial or inline mixed flow fan there. When speed controlled Elta limit the air temperature to +50°C (+70°C at fixed speed), and it is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres.
Why choose this over alternatives
If you have a three phase supply, the Elta SCP630/4-3AC is the same size (16524 m³/h, up to 200 Pa, 1.36 kW, 65 dB(A)). The single phase Elta SCP630-1EC uses an EC motor with built in speed control and gives 14980 m³/h, up to 300 Pa, 1.34 kW, 66 dB(A), so it suits sites that need more pressure or BMS control.
Installation notes
- Mount the 805 x 805mm fan plate securely at any angle using the four 10mm holes on 750mm centres. Make sure the structure can carry its 24 kg and leave access for maintenance.
- The motor is prewired to an IP55 terminal box on 550mm of 20mm flexible conduit. Wire to Elta diagram 152-500 and make all earth connections; the thermal cut-out must be wired into the starter or controller control circuit.
- Elta's accessory table lists no transformer controller for this size, so ask us before planning speed control. Diagram 152-500 also covers the 149-EL31TK and 149-EL61TK electronic controllers; the controller must be rated above the motor current.
- Fit a local means of isolation, but do not use the isolator for day to day on and off control. Elta warn this shortens motor life; use a controller or switch instead.
- At first start check rotation, airflow direction and that the running current does not exceed the rating plate. Inspect and clean blades and guards at least every 12 months.

How much air does the Elta SCP630/4-1AC move?
Up to 17194 m³/h in free air, and 15754 m³/h at 50 Pa, 14051 m³/h at 100 Pa and 11840 m³/h at 150 Pa.
What size hole and plate does it need?
It fits a 630mm opening. The square plate is 805 x 805mm with four 10mm fixing holes on 750mm centres.
Can it run on a normal 230V supply?
Yes. It is a single phase 220-240V 50Hz fan drawing 1.45 kW and 6.50 A.
Which speed controller suits it?
Elta list no transformer controller for this size, so ask us for a suitable option. When speed controlled the maximum air temperature drops to +50°C.
How noisy is it?
Elta quote 63 dB(A) at 3m at full speed.
Can it be mounted horizontally?
Yes. Elta say the fan can be mounted at any angle, so it suits walls, bulkheads and horizontal panels.
