What it is best used for
The largest single phase SMB, for high volume extract and supply on 650mm ductwork: large commercial kitchen canopies, restaurants, warehouses, factory units, sports halls and plant rooms. It holds 7445 m³/h at 100 Pa, 6786 m³/h at 200 Pa and still 4381 m³/h at 400 Pa.
At 1.143 kW and up to 5.28 A it needs a dedicated circuit and the 16 A transformer controller for speed control. Where three phase is available, the SMB650/4-3AC gives more air for a much lower running current.

Installation notes
- Mount the fan at any angle in the duct run, securely supported, and leave access for maintenance. It weighs 47 kg.
- Connect with the 650mm Ductmate flanges at each end. Elta's flexible connectors (063-0650-MFB) and anti vibration mounts (062-003) reduce transmitted noise and vibration.
- Wire to Elta diagram 152-104A on a 230V single phase supply. The thermal cut out terminals (TB) must be connected into the control circuit, and Elta specify the 149-TC116 transformer controller for speed control.
- Fit a means of isolation and earth the fan. Fuses and breakers only give short circuit protection, so Elta advise a starter with overload protection for the motor. Check rotation, airflow direction and running current on first start.
- Not for corrosive or explosive atmospheres. Locate the discharge away from open flues, and inspect and clean the impeller and motor at least every 12 months.
