The Elta Multiflow SMB650/4-3AC is a 650mm square inline mixed flow box fan with a three phase AC motor, moving up to 10480 m³/h in free air and still delivering 3503 m³/h against 500 Pa. It fits straight into 650mm ductwork on Ductmate flanges at each end.
The 4 pole motor runs at 1320 rpm on a 380 to 415V 50Hz supply, absorbing 1.433 kW with a peak current of 2.89 A, and has sealed for life bearings. The casing is stiffened pre-galvanised sheet steel, the impeller has 7 backward curved aerofoil blades in high performance composite, and it handles air up to 60°C. Elta give a 12 month warranty.

What it is best used for
High volume three phase extract and supply on 650mm ductwork: large commercial kitchen canopies, restaurants and food courts, plant rooms, warehouse and workshop ventilation, and general HVAC in larger commercial buildings. It moves 9670 m³/h at 100 Pa and still 7495 m³/h at 300 Pa, so it suits long, fitting heavy duct runs.
It is more fan than a short run or small space needs; drop to the SMB550/4-3AC under about 7000 m³/h. For more than about 10000 m³/h at working pressure, use the SMB700/4-3AC.
Why choose this over alternatives
The three phase SMB650/4-3AC moves 10480 m³/h in free air against 7974 m³/h for the single phase SMB650, and it draws 2.89 A per phase at 400V where the single phase model takes 5.28 A at 230V. On a site with three phase available it is the stronger and easier to supply option.

Installation notes
- Mount the fan at any angle in the duct, securely supported, and leave access for maintenance. It weighs 47 kg.
- Connect with the 650mm Ductmate flanges at each end. Elta's 650mm flexible connectors (063-0650-MFB) and anti vibration mounts (062-003) reduce transmitted noise and vibration.
- Wire to Elta diagram 152-106A: star connection for a 400V three phase supply. To reverse rotation swap any two incoming supply cables, and check rotation and airflow direction on first start.
- Fit a means of isolation, earth the fan, and protect the motor with a starter that has overload protection; fuses and breakers only give short circuit protection.
- Not for corrosive or explosive atmospheres. Inspect and clean the impeller and motor at least every 12 months.
