The Elta Jetflow SJMF355 is the largest Jetflow, a 355mm inline mixed flow circular duct fan with a single phase EC motor, moving up to 4464 m³/h (1.24 m³/s) in free air and developing up to 548 Pa. Its jet design double mixed flow impeller is driven directly by a brushless EC motor running at up to 3000 rpm.
It absorbs 0.538 kW at full speed with a peak current of 3.8 A, has an IPX4 motor with sealed for life bearings and handles air up to 60°C. It is supplied with a UK plug for fixed speed running and a 5m jack lead for potentiometer, 0-10V or PWM speed control, and Elta give a two year warranty.

What it is best used for
High volume extract or supply on 355mm duct where only a single phase supply is available: restaurant dining areas, school and sports halls, larger retail units, office floors and hotel communal areas. With up to 548 Pa available it can push through long runs with filters, heater batteries and attenuators.
At 64 dB(A) inlet and 66 dB(A) outlet at 3m it is loud enough to need silencers near occupied rooms. It is not a grease extract fan for cooking canopies and is not for corrosive or explosive atmospheres. If you need more than about 4500 m³/h, look at the Elta Multiflow SEL400-1PEC or a three phase SEL.
Why choose this over alternatives
The SJMF355 adds roughly half as much air again over the SJMF315 (2934 m³/h free air), while still running from a 13A plug on a single phase supply. Elta quote a specific fan power of 0.43 W/(L/s) at its best efficiency point, which helps meet Building Regulations SFP limits.
Compared with a single phase AC mixed flow fan of the same size, the EC motor gives step-less speed control from a simple potentiometer or BMS signal with no separate transformer controller.
Installation notes
- The fan can be mounted at any angle. It weighs 12 kg, so fix the detachable mounting bracket to a solid surface and leave access for maintenance.
- Connect to 355mm duct with fast clamps or flexible connectors so it can be removed later, and fit silencers on the inlet and outlet in noise sensitive areas.
- Mains connection is by the fitted 1.5m lead and UK 3 pin plug. For speed control, remove the 3.5mm jack plug and connect the supplied jack cable to a 149-POT-10-MI, 0-10V or PWM signal (wiring diagram 152-553).
- Do not supply it through a timer or a regularly switched circuit: the EC motor has internal overload protection and may restart unexpectedly once it cools. Indoor use only, ambient up to +60°C.
- Inspect and clean the impeller and motor at least every 12 months.
