The Elta Jetflow SJMF100 is a 100mm inline mixed flow circular duct fan with a single phase EC motor, moving up to 241 m³/h in free air and 72 m³/h against 200 Pa. Its jet design double mixed flow impeller is driven directly by a brushless EC motor running at 5000 rpm, absorbing 0.021 kW at full speed.
The IPX4 motor has sealed for life heavy duty NWB bearings and is rated for air up to 60°C. It arrives with a 1.5m mains lead and UK 3 pin plug (3A fuse) for fixed speed running, plus a detachable 5m jack lead for a potentiometer, 0-10V or PWM speed signal. Elta give a 24 month warranty.

What it is best used for
Single room extract on 100mm duct where a domestic axial fan cannot cope with the run: an en-suite or WC at the end of a long loft duct, a small office kitchenette, a cleaner's store or a server cupboard. It still moves 173 m³/h at 100 Pa, which is ample for one wet room ducted 5 to 10m to a roof or wall terminal.
At 241 m³/h free air it is too small for a commercial kitchen, a group of toilets or a classroom. For two or three rooms on one duct, step up to the Elta SJMF125.

It is supplied ready to run at fixed full speed on its fitted UK plug, and the detachable 5m jack lead lets you add an Elta 149-POT-10-MI controller, a 0-10V signal or PWM later without rewiring the mains side. Elta's SFP at full speed in free air is 0.31 W/(L/s).
Installation notes
- The fan can be mounted at any angle. Fix it securely to a solid surface and leave access for cleaning and maintenance.
- Connect to 100mm duct with Elta fast clamps (018-100-CLAMP) or flexible connectors so the fan can be removed later. Elta recommend silencers on the inlet and outlet in noise sensitive areas.
- Mains connection is by the fitted 1.5m lead and UK 3 pin plug with a 3A fuse. The fan is supplied for fixed speed; for speed control, remove the 3.5mm jack plug and connect the supplied jack cable to a 149-POT-10-MI, 0-10V or PWM signal (wiring diagram 152-553).
- Do not supply it through a timer or a regularly switched circuit: the EC motor has internal overload protection and may restart unexpectedly once it cools. Indoor use only, ambient -10°C to +60°C, not for corrosive or explosive atmospheres.
- Locate the discharge so exhaust cannot be drawn back through the open flue of a gas or solid fuel appliance, and inspect and clean the fan at least every 12 months.

What duct size does the Elta SJMF100 fit?
It has 100mm circular spigots at each end. Elta recommend fast clamps or flexible connectors so it can be taken out for maintenance.
How much air does the SJMF100 move?
Up to 241 m³/h (0.067 m³/s) in free air at full speed, 173 m³/h at 100 Pa and 72 m³/h at 200 Pa, the highest pressure in Elta's table for this size.
Does the SJMF100 plug into a normal socket?
Yes. It comes with a 1.5m mains lead and a UK 3 pin plug with a 3A fuse, which also gives you a simple means of isolation. It runs single phase 220 to 240V.
How do I control the speed of the SJMF100?
Remove the 3.5mm jack plug and connect the supplied 5m jack lead to an Elta 149-POT-10-MI controller, a 0-10V signal from a BMS or a PWM signal. It works from a 2V control signal upwards.
How noisy is the SJMF100?
Elta quote 46 dB(A) inlet and 47 dB(A) outlet at 3m at full speed. Spigot silencers from 300 to 1200mm long are available to bring that down.
Can the SJMF100 be mounted vertically?
Yes. Elta state the fan can be mounted at any angle, as long as it is securely supported and accessible for maintenance.
