The Elta SPA560/4-1AC is a 560mm Raptor plate mounted axial fan with a 4 pole single phase motor, moving up to 12578 m³/h in free air and working against static pressures up to 200 Pa. It runs at 63 dB(A) at 3m.
It runs on a 220-240V AC external rotor motor at 1350 rpm, insulated to Class F with integral thermal overload protection, drawing 1.15 kW and 5.10 A. The Ziehl-Abegg FE2owlet aerofoil impeller has serrated trailing edges and winglets for lower noise, the motor is weatherproofed to IP54 with an IP55 terminal box, and Elta give a 12 month warranty.
- 1 Phase
- AC Motor
- Up to 12578 m³/h
- Speed Controllable
What it is best used for
Through-wall extract or supply on a single phase supply where noise matters, in warehouses, distribution sheds, factories, sports halls and large industrial units, often as a bank of fans along one wall. At 12578 m³/h it gives about 6 air changes an hour in a space of roughly 2112 m³, for example 33m x 16m with a 4m ceiling.
With airflow shown up to 200 Pa it copes with a louvre shutter, cowl or short duct, but for long ducted runs use a cased axial or inline mixed flow fan. It is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres.
Why choose this over alternatives
Against the Compact Elta SCP560/4-1AC (12056 m³/h, up to 150 Pa, 920 W, 58 dB(A)), the Raptor moves more air and works up to 200 Pa, but is louder. The slower 6 pole Elta SPA560/6-1AC is quieter and cheaper to run (7981 m³/h, up to 100 Pa, 390 W, 52 dB(A)) if you can accept less air.
Installation notes
- Mount the 725 x 725mm fan plate securely at any angle using the four 10mm holes on 670mm centres. Make sure the structure can carry its 28 kg and leave access for maintenance.
- The motor is prewired to an IP55 terminal box on a flying lead, so the box can be placed to suit the incoming supply. Wire to Elta diagram 152-104B and make all earth connections.
- Speed can be controlled with the 149-TC110 five step transformer controller. Wire the thermal contacts into the controller circuit as shown on the diagram.
- Fit a local means of isolation. The AC motor has an auto-reset thermal cut-out, so isolate the supply before any work because the fan can restart on its own once it cools.
- At first start check impeller rotation and airflow direction, and that the running current does not exceed the rating plate. Inspect and clean blades and guards at least every 12 months.
