Summary
See more specification See less specification
The Elta DEXA HR Wall Control Switch (ET-900002/A) is the optional hard wired control for DEXA HR 100 and DEXA HR 150 single room heat recovery units. It gives the occupant three speed settings and a heat recovery or free cooling selector.
Free cooling stops the alternating push and pull flow and holds the unit in extract only or intake only, so warm summer air is not heated back into the room. When two units are wired to the same switch they always run in sync, one supplying while the other extracts.
- DEXA HR wall control
- 3 speeds and free cooling
- Single back box
What it is best used for
Homes, flats and social or rented housing fitted with pairs of DEXA HR units in living rooms and bedrooms, where the occupant needs simple control of speed and summer free cooling. It is also the neat way to keep a pair of units synchronised without re-syncing them at the fuse board.
It only suits DEXA HR units. Without it a DEXA HR runs at a fixed speed set by the wiring, and it is not a controller for whole house MVHR, which comes with its own controller.
Why choose this over alternatives
Elta set the DEXA HR to run continuously, and recommend switching to extract only or intake only in mild weather rather than turning the unit off. This switch makes that a one touch change for the occupant, and the LED on the unit cover shows when free cooling is active.
Boost can still be added through a dedicated switch or a humidity, CO2 or PIR sensor alongside the control switch.
Installation notes
- Fit on a standard single back box and wire to the S1, S2 and S3 terminals of the DEXA HR as shown in the DEXA HR installation guide (fig. 18D for one unit, 18G for two).
- Units controlled by the same switch always operate synchronised. Set the integral jumper in each unit to A (extract) or B (intake) to choose the free cooling direction.
- Isolate the supply before wiring, and fit an omnipolar isolator with at least 3mm contact separation. Wiring by a qualified electrician.

Payment Methods

Which units does it work with?
Elta DEXA HR 100 and DEXA HR 150 single room heat recovery units.
Do I need it for summer free cooling?
It is the simple way to give the occupant that choice. The S3 position selects free cooling, which stops the alternating flow and runs the unit extract only or intake only.
Can one switch run two DEXA HR units?
Yes. Two units wired to the same control switch always operate synchronised, one extracting while the other supplies.
What speeds does it give?
Off plus three speeds, selected by the two position S1 and S2 switches.
Does the DEXA HR work without it?
Yes, but it then runs at a fixed speed set by how it is wired. Elta say the same functions can also be had from three separate two position switches.
How is it mounted?
On a standard single back box, wired to the DEXA HR as shown in the installation guide.
