  • Run-on timer up to 4 hours
  • 5A single phase
  • Resetting or non-resetting

What it is best used for

Toilet, washroom, bathroom and kitchen extract triggered by the lights, so the fan clears the room after it is used, plus plant rooms, stores and drying rooms where a fan should run for a fixed time after a switch is pressed. The 4 hour range suits longer purge or drying duties.

It is a timer only, with no humidity sensing and no speed control, and it is for single phase fans up to 5A in total. For humidity triggered run-on, use a humidistat; for larger fans, use a contactor or a dedicated controller.

Why choose this over alternatives

The 149S-A1729 can be set anywhere up to 4 hours, in resetting mode (run-on starts when the light goes off) or non-resetting mode (runs for the set time from switch-on), and one timer can switch several small fans up to 5A combined, for example two or three VL150 inline fans serving a washroom.

Where the fan should respond to humidity rather than the light switch, the Elta SEN-HY-I humidistat with 1 to 25 minute timer is the alternative.

Installation notes

  • Check the timer can safely switch the number and size of fans connected: 5A maximum.
  • Install in a dry sheltered position, not close to a heat source. Remove the fascia screws for access to the terminals.
  • Wire L, N, E, the switched live trigger to T and the fan to OUT as shown on the wiring diagram.
  • With the supply isolated, set the mode and time range on the 4 way DIL switch, then the time within that range on potentiometer VR1.
  • Wiring to current regulations by a qualified electrician.

How long can the run-on be set?

Up to 4 hours, across four ranges: 0 to 15 minutes, 0 to 1 hour, 0 to 2 hours and 0 to 4 hours.

What load can the 149S-A1729 switch?

Up to 5A single phase.

How is the timer triggered?

By a switched live to terminal T, typically from the room's light switch.

How do I set the run-on time?

Select the mode and range on the 4 way DIL switch, then set the time within the range on potentiometer VR1, with the supply isolated.

Can the timer run more than one fan?

Yes, as long as the total load does not exceed 5A.
